In 1983, Ken Kenan graduated with honors and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Tulane University. He then traveled to France where he worked under the guidance of Max Papart. In Paris, he studied various printmaking techniques, executing lithographs at the Atelier Grapholite and etchings with Robert Dutrou, master printer for Joan Miro.
